Il Gatto Italian Restaurant Brand Identity

Il Gatto is an authentic Italian Restaurant brought to you by Brendon Salisbury and the celebrated 1923 Restaurant Group, owners of The Cannery, El Cholo, and Louie’s by the Bay. The restaurant takes over the charming, two-story, yellow Spanish building that served as The Cat and The Custard Cup since 1979. The renovated space now features cozy booths, a gorgeous bar, a fireplace, and a fairy-lit patio with fire pits. The menu from esteemed chef Antonio Orlando includes classic pasta dishes, imaginative pizzas, charcuterie boards, and an exceptional wine list.

Brendon and the 1923 Restaurant Group asked us for help in creating the restaurant brand identity. We designed a logo with a custom script wordmark reminiscent of the charming and wonky signage seen in Italian Trattorias of yesteryear. The logo was handpainted on the building adding even more authenticity.

Il Gatto is now open in La Habra! Head over on a night with live music and tell them Hoodzpah sent you.
