After collaborating on One Piece Season 2 Consumer Product Graphics, Banna Tesfay (Netflix Global Consumer Products, Netflix) got back in touch about a new project: KPop Demon Hunters! The smash-hit animated film was getting a suite of new brand assets for partners and products. Netflix partners were literally beating down the door for more graphics and collaborations, so we got to work with Banna on custom type, badges, Honmoon borders, and more. Banna had a super clear vision for what they wanted, and we were honored to help her and the team ideate and execute on that vision. Getting to blast the Oscar & Grammy winning soundtrack while we worked and calling it “research”? The best. May every project be this joyful.
The final designs live in a library that Netflix Consumer Products licensees and collaborators can download and remix to create their own assets for brand partnerships. We’ve already seen the assets rolled out on a limited edition McDonalds meal, toy and game packaging, sticker sets, accessories, merch, merch, and more merch. And we’ve got even more graphics to share real soon!

The Netflix team had a vision for these graphics. And that vision was:
• Pop Maximalism
• Celestial Surrealism
• High Contrast: Light vs Dark

The Honmoon borders have proved to be endlessly usable in the KPop Demon Hunters graphic system: Licensees can use them on packaging, marketing graphics, in product, and on social media. They’re so iconic to the film.

Once we hand off all the graphic assets to the Netflix team, it’s so fun seeing how they roll out in different collaborations and merch. Partners can take pieces and remix them into new designs, or take full graphics and apply them to products.
