It might be surprising to learn that modern satellites cannot capture real-time, persistent images of earth. Until now, that is. Extellis is a Duke-born startup bringing high-volume, almost real-time imagery to the satellite game. To image earth completely would take competitors hundreds of satellites and up to a decade to complete. Extellis can do it with one satellite, in under a year, and at a fraction of the cost. This opens the door for much broader commercial use across agriculture, transportation, subsidence detection, and more. Co-founders Michael Boyarsky and Professor David Smith connected with us at Hoodzpah to bring to life a new identity for Extellis. The goal: create a warmer, more earth-focused identity that mirrors Extellis’s ability to shed light on our world for real-time insights.
