Inspiration of the Day: Match & Kerosene

Alex Sheldon space design with text saying Space Mission No 2076-11 Lightyears

What’s inspiring us of recent? The amazing fonts created by Alex Sheldon of Match & Kerosene. Sheldon founded the indie type studio in 2008 and has been cranking out enviable type faces ever since; but his journey began long before that. Growing up in Michigan, Sheldon was big into the punk scene, which eventually led to him joining a band (Search The City) that would sign with Tooth & Nail Records. Connections were made, bonds were formed, and through these relationships forged on the road Sheldon started getting more and more design work in the music business. As he had once put his art and design on the back burner to focus on his band, he was now putting his music to the side to refocus back on design. With the band’s eventual permanent hiatus Sheldon threw himself full fledged back into freelance design. Sheldon has a heavy client base in the music and fashion industries.

Check out some of his awe-inspiring fonts below. For more of his font work and other design work (Match & Kerosene does everything), check out their website at www.matchandkerosene.com.
