Artist statement about the piece: “Balboa Peninsula in Newport is where I spent my last 7 years, designing from my home office, taking breaks for Balboa Bars at the Fun Zone, and capping off every day with a walk down to 15th street for a sunset over the beach. The whole peninsula is only 4-5 blocks wide and surrounded by water. It was my muse when I needed inspiration, and my beta-blocker when I needed a break from it all.”
