Inspiration of the Day: Dana Tanamachi

I wonder if when Dana Tanamachi was a young girl drawing a hopscotch board on the dusty Texas ground that she realized she was bound for great things – great things involving chalk? I bet her hopscotch boards put the other kids’ to shame.Dana creates custom chalkboard pieces that look like they stepped right out of the turn of the century. Dana studied at The University of North Texas and graduated with a BFA in Communication Design, after which she set off for the big city. New York City to be exact. After working with some of New Yorks finest, she went solo and began working full-time as a professional chalk letterer – designing for the likes of West Elm, Adidas and Ralph Lauren to name a few. Check out some of her amazing work below. For a time lapse of one of her pieces, click the video at the bottom.
